Brechfa Forest, Carmarthenshire

Brechfa Forest SOCIAL RIDE

🫶 Hosted by SheRides Ambassador Charlie

👇 Scroll down to sign up!

What to Expect:

We’ll be riding on around 11 miles of red graded trail, fire roads, bridleways and green lanes.

Accompanied under 18 year olds are welcome on this ride

There are not facilities at Abernant car park, so please make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. About 150m away is The Grub Hub at Hadford Trails so there is always the option after the ride for a quick detour/ drop our bikes off and head over for a bite to eat.

It’s a super loose structure; we won’t be rushing to get done, we won’t be pushing to tick off features, and we won’t be forcing anyone to ride anything they aren’t comfortable with- the aim is to have fun and ride bikes!

No pressure, just good times!

Where to Meet Us:

Charlie will be waiting in Abernant car park (on the east side of Brechfa Forest) ready to ride at 10:30 am. Please arrive with plenty of time to get ready as we’re not going to hang around too long.

What Should you Bring?:

It’s super important to note that we will not ride with anyone who is not wearing a helmet!

Other than that, the protective gear that you bring is up to you- we normally ride with knee / elbow pads and maybe gloves, depending on the conditions. You’ll also need a bike that is trail suitable, safe and in working order so we can avoid repairs at the start of the day.

This is a mountain bike ride, not suitable for gravel or hybrid bikes.

E-bikes and ‘normal’ 😂 bikes welcome.

There is no cafe at Abernant carpark so please be sure to bring enough snacks or lunch to sustain you during the ride, and don’t forget to bring plenty of water!

What Will it Cost?

The ride itself is totally free, we won’t be charging you anything for our company.

Abernant carpark is also totally free, so find a spot and get your gear on!

We will have the entire day to ride, but there is no pressure at all if you need to dip out at any point.

And a quick disclaimer from us, please do take a look:

This is NOT a guided ride and there will be no coaching, we’re simply meeting you at the trail head to make some friends, push each other as a group, and get women and girls on the trails. We do not accept any responsibility / liability for any accidents, and we will refuse to ride with anyone who arrives without the correct safety equipment or an unsafe bike. All riders must sign up in order to ride and in doing so you are agreeing to these terms. Any riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied on the ride by an adult.
