Hi, I’m Heather, founder of SheRides Collective. I started riding in the summer of 2020 during lockdown (where I was lucky enough to be in Canada) and one ride hooked me for life. Since then, I’ve been passionate about helping women connect and build confidence on the trails, which led me to create SheRides. It combines my love of MTB, community, and fitness, providing a supportive space where women can come together, have fun, and enjoy being on the bike.

Tom

Hello! I’m Tom. I’ve been travelling the world with Heather for over a decade, and I’ve been mountain biking since I was a boy. With SheRides, my main role is handling the behind-the-scenes work and supporting Heather wherever she needs me so she can focus on bringing women together on the trails.

Why I Started SheRides

I started SheRides because, for a long time, I only ever rode with guys. I got into MTB through my partner, Tom, and when we were traveling in Canada, we mostly rode just the two of us — which was great. Seeing groups of women riding together made me realise I was missing out.

 Back in the UK, I wanted a way to connect with women riders all over the country so I created SheRides: a space to bring women together, ride, and support each other no matter where they are.

Building Connections Through Group Rides

Since starting this collective, I’ve seen just how powerful riding with like-minded women can be. It naturally encourages progression, builds confidence, and helps us shake off that nagging self-doubt we all carry.

Our social rides and MTB retreats are about more than just riding—they’re about creating a supportive community where we can share tips, celebrate achievements, and push ourselves in a fun, safe environment.

Growing Confidence Through Fitness

Alongside bringing more women to the trails, I’m passionate about helping them grow into strong, confident riders.

Many women tell me they’d love to join our social rides or retreats but feel held back by their fitness levels.

As a Personal Trainer Practitioner (MCIMSPA) specialising in women’s fitness, I love supporting women to reach their goals—whether through sport-specific training or general fitness. Our Get Bike Fit programmes are designed specifically for women who ride, helping them achieve their fitness goals and build a strong, healthy, and mobile body to enjoy riding for years to come.
