A riding community, not just a riding holiday
Coming on a mountain biking holiday with people you’ve never met can feel daunting, especially if you’re travelling solo. That’s why we’re all about bringing women together, helping you make connections and finding your riding crew.
-
We’ll help you connect with other riders, make introductions and find people with similar riding interests and goals.
-
The coaching session gives you the opportunity to develop your skills and build confidence. Beyond that, riding together, sharing laps and discovering the trails as a group often happens naturally as friendships form throughout the week.
-
We want you to feel comfortable and included, while recognising that everyone rides at a different pace. You’re responsible for choosing trails that suit your ability, and while we’ll always encourage and support you, our retreats aren’t a one-to-one guiding or coaching service outside the activities provided.
-
Booking a holiday with people you don’t know takes courage, riding with them takes even more.
We know that turning up to ride with a group of strangers can feel daunting, so we’ll always do our best to help you find your feet, connect with other riders and feel part of the crew.
Whether that means finding women who share your riding pace, teaming up with someone for a few laps or joining a group heading out for the day, we’ll help you find your people, so you can spend less time worrying about fitting in and more time enjoying your riding.
Getting women together to ride is kind of our thing!
We want every woman who joins us to feel welcome, make new riding friends, build confidence and create memories along the way.
But don't just take our word for it… here's what our guests have to say!
The Riding
Les Gets sits at the heart of the Portes du Soleil (PDS), the largest connected bike park in the world. With 600km of trails, 22 lifts, and 6 dedicated bike parks spanning France and Switzerland, it’s an MTB paradise where you can explore new terrain every day. And it’s all accessible with just one lift pass - the full area Portes du Soleil bike park pass.
-
Take your bike up the mountain on a chairlift, then enjoy the descent without having to pedal back up.
More time riding downhill, with plenty of opportunities to repeat your favourite trails.
-
A mix of purpose-built downhill trails, from flowing berms and rollers to technical roots, rocks and challenging features.
Trails graded green, blue, red and black, from easier runs to more demanding terrain.
The terrain varies between different areas of the bike park, so there’s plenty to explore.
-
Les Gets is part of the huge Portes du Soleil mountain biking area, linking multiple resorts across France and Switzerland.
With a suitable lift pass and depending on lift and trail openings, you can explore neighbouring areas such as Morzine and beyond.
Your Riding Level
Our Les Gets retreat is best suited to riders with some mountain biking experience who feel comfortable riding blue trails independently. Whilst most of our guests are happy riding blue trails and above, we’ve welcomed riders of all levels, and everyone has found trails to enjoy and more often than not someone to ride with!
There are easier trails in the bike park, so newer riders are welcome, but complete beginners may find it harder to join in with all the group riding. While we’ll always help you feel welcome and connect with other riders, we don’t provide ongoing 1-to-1 riding support outside our planned coaching session, so you’ll need to feel confident choosing trails that suit your ability. If you’re happy riding independently and keen to build your skills, this could be a great next step!

Bringing Your Bike
We have a large, secure garage to store your bike. If you’ve never travelled with your bike before, it’s really easy. Most guests fly with their bike packed in a bike bag or box. We’ve partnered with Adventure Kit Hire, so you can rent a high-quality bike bag for your trip - and SheRides guests get a discount code, you’ll automatically get this in your booking confirmation.
*This is an affiliate link, which means we may receive a small benefit at no extra cost to you.
Bike Hire
Don’t want to bring your bike?
We have partnered with 360 Outdoor and can give you an exclusive discount code to book. It’s recommend to book in advanced.
Hiring a bike in Les Gets can range from anywhere between €80 and €150 per day with a huge variety of bikes and specs on offer. There are also deals and offers that run throughout the summer, so it’s worth noting that this is a guideline price.
-
Tourist tax is a local tax charged by the French authorities to visitors staying in tourist accommodation. It helps support local tourism services and facilities. This is not included in your retreat price and will be collected directly by the chalet company before your stay.
Tourist tax is around €2.30 per person per night.
The Chalet
The Alpine Lodge is a modern chalet with a cool blend of rustic and sleek touches, bursting with with alpine cosiness. There is a fire place, an open plan living room that flows out onto a huge sundeck with plenty of comfortable seating, an oversize outdoor hot tub and a BBQ.
The chalet is equipped with a secure garage for bike storage, off road parking if you choose to drive, and has laundry facilities available. It sleeps up to 14 guests (16 when you include your hosts).
The Alpine Lodge is located just 400m from the main Chavannes Express chairlift, which is about a 3 minute cycle, it’s also less than a five minute walk to the village centre. So whether you want to grab a coffee, saunter around the shops, or hit the bike park, it’s all on your doorstep. The perfect location for an MTB holiday!
-
You will be catered for during your stay by your very own chalet chef. You’ll have breakfast available every morning and a freshly prepared evening meal 4 out of the 5 nights (see ‘chalet chef & host day off’ below for more information).
What’s Included:
Continental Breakfasst
Available every morning
A continental breakfast will be laid out every day in a self-serve style, there will be fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, bread, tea and coffee and a selection of pastries from some of our favourite local bakeries. On host day off we’ll make sure you know where everything is the night before.
Family-Style 2 Course Dinner
*Available 4 out of the 5 days*
We will be making you a hearty, 2-course family-style dinner in the evening, perfect after a day riding in the bike park. Cooked by your very own chalet chef, and available for you to enjoy in a relaxed and chill setting.
Family-style essentially means there will be enough food for everyone to help themselves and eat on their own schedule, outside in the evening sun, at the dining table or even relaxing on the sofas in front of a movie. We don’t want to create a formal eating environment, we just want everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed, enjoying the company of the women around them in our cosy chalet.
Meals will be two courses, often alternating between a starter and a main or a main and dessert. For example a 10 hour slow-cooked bolognaise served over linguine, with home-made garlic bread and parmesan, followed by a banging brownie and some ice cream.
Simple, delicious and nutritious food served with good vibes and made with quality ingredients.
* Don’t want to eat in the chalet?
If you’d rather head out into to town for a meal on any of the nights during your stay, you absolutely can do so, just be sure to tell your hosts beforehand. (This won’t affect the price of the holiday)
Drinks
We’ll have a stocked beer fridge that you can help yourself to whenever you like. If you want to bring your own drinks and pop them in the fridge then this more than ok.
Snacks
We’ll have sweet and savoury snacks available post ride for you to help yourself to.
Dietary Requirements
We’ll do our very best to cater for any dietary requirements or preferences you let us know about in advance (at no extra cost). While we aim to offer suitable alternatives where possible, we cannot guarantee that all requests can be accommodated.
Chalet Chef & Host Day Off
Day 4 of your holiday is chef and host day off. A continental breakfast will still be available in chalet, but no dinner will be served, meaning you get to experience some local cuisine. We find that usually everyone on the trip likes to dine out together.
-
Your hosts, Heather (SheRide’s founder) and her partner Tom* (your chef for the week), will be in the chalet to cook and to help during your stay.
They are there in a more friendly and relaxed capacity than a formal hosting capacity. There won’t be any room service, towel changes or mid week cleans. The whole aim of this trip is to bring women together to ride in one of the world’s best MTB locations, so casual and relaxed vibes will be abundant.
*Tom is our chef - all other activities will be women only.
Chalet Chef & Host Day Off
Your chef and host have Monday 22nd June off which means you’ll receive dinner 4 days out of 5. We can help you book somewhere for dinner when you arrive - we find that the group often goes out to dinner together. A continental breakfast will still be available in chalet on chef & host day off.
-
