What to Expect:

A lovely proper Dartmoor loop from Princetown, taking in Burrator resevoir, a fun rocky descent, open Moorland and a dip at Crazywell Pool for those who fancy braving the cold waters!

We’ll be riding around 17.5miles / 3 hours at an easy pace, depending on how much we stop to talk and faff!

Suitable for most riders with a moderate degree of fitness, nothing too technical with some fun little descents but all easy enough.

Facilities

There are great facilities at this meet spot:

  • Parking (paid)

  • Toilets

There’s also plenty of lovely cafes and pubs in Princetown for after!

What Should you Bring?

  • Equipment

It’s super important to note that we will not ride with anyone who is not wearing a helmet!

Other than that, the protective gear that you bring is up to you- we normally ride with knee / elbow pads and maybe gloves, depending on the conditions. You’ll also need a bike that is trail suitable, safe and in working order so we can avoid repairs at the start of the day. ‘Normal’ and e-bikes welcome.

  • Spare Clothes

Dartmoor can be unpredictable weather wise, look at the forecast and if in doubt bring a raincoat / windproof layer and spare clothes for after.

  • Swimmers

Bring your swimmming costume if you fancy a dip at Crazywell Pool!

  • Food

Please be sure to bring enough snacks to sustain you during the ride, and don’t forget to bring plenty of water! Then we’ll stop at a cafe/ pub in Princetown after (totally optional of course).

What Will it Cost?

The ride itself is totally free, we won’t be charging you anything for our company.

You’ll just need to pay for parking.

Important Info

Photos:

Our ambassadors may take photos or videos during the ride to use on social media or in promotions. It’s a great way to show others what our rides are really like and help those who might be nervous feel more confident about joining next time.

If you'd prefer not to be included in any photos or videos, just let your ambassador know at the start of the ride — no problem at all!
