2. Nature of Social Rides & Rider Responsibility

2.1 Nature of Social Rides

SheRides Social Rides are not guided, coached, or instructed activities.

Ambassadors are volunteers who host the meet-up and suggest a route; rides are group-led, and decisions around pace, line choice, stops, and continuation are made collectively by participants.

Ambassadors are not acting as ride leaders, guides, or instructors.

2.2 Acknowledgement of Risk

All participants must sign or digitally agree to a SheRides Registration & Acknowledgement of Risk confirming that they:

a. Understand that cycling and mountain biking are inherently risky activities that may result in injury or death

b. Accept responsibility for their own actions, decisions, and safety

c. Confirm they are fit, healthy, and capable of participating

d. Accept that they ride entirely at their own risk

SheRides maintains a documented overarching Social Ride Risk Assessment, which is reviewed annually and following any significant incident.

A copy can be provided on request.

Breaches safety requirements or participation conditions

5.2 Group Responsibility

SheRides Social Rides operate on a shared-responsibility, group-led basis.

While SheRides aims to foster an inclusive and supportive environment, each participant remains responsible for managing their own pace, decisions, and safety.

Riders are responsible for the condition and suitability of their own equipment

SheRides holds Public Liability Insurance through its appointed broker (currently Bikmo).

This insurance does not replace personal accident or medical insurance, which participants are encouraged to hold.
