What to Expect:

A lovely easy Dartmoor loop from Sourton Down along the granite way and back over the moor with a fun little descent. Approximately 16km/ 2-3 hours. There’s the option to extend to Meldon reservoir if people are keen, or keep it simple and end at the pump & pedal for coffee, cake or one or their amazing pizzas.

This ride is accessible to all - mix of paved, gravel track and easy open moorland. It’s all about giving it a go, meeting new people and having fun.

Facilities

There are great facilities at this meet spot:

  • Parking (free) You can park in the carpark of the Pump and Pedal but spaces can be limited, you can also park on road - which is also free

  • Toilets

  • Pump and Pedal bar and cafe

What Should you Bring?

  • Equipment

It’s super important to note that we will not ride with anyone who is not wearing a helmet!

Other than that, the protective gear that you bring is up to you- we normally ride with knee / elbow pads and maybe gloves, depending on the conditions. You’ll also need a bike that is trail suitable, safe and in working order so we can avoid repairs at the start of the day. ‘Normal’ and e-bikes welcome.

  • Spare Clothes

Bring waterproofs / spare clothes for after the ride - the weather on the moors can be unpredictable and the muddy puddles may be deep!

  • Food

Please be sure to bring enough snacks to sustain you during the ride, and don’t forget to bring plenty of water! Then we’ll stop at the Pump & Pedal after (totally optional of course).

What Will it Cost?

The ride itself is totally free, we won’t be charging you anything for our company.

And there’s free parking at the meeting spot.

Important Info

Photos:

Our ambassadors may take photos or videos during the ride to use on social media or in promotions. It’s a great way to show others what our rides are really like and help those who might be nervous feel more confident about joining next time.

If you'd prefer not to be included in any photos or videos, just let your ambassador know at the start of the ride — no problem at all!
