Ambassador Role Summary

This is an overview of the SheRides Ambassador role and is designed to help you understand what being an ambassador involves before moving into our onboarding process. At its heart, this role is about community, connection and sharing a love of mountain biking.

What are Social Rides?

SheRides social rides are free to join and exist for one main reason: to bring women together through mountain biking. They are community-focused rides that encourage connection, confidence and fun on the trails.

We’re looking for local riders who want to share their passion for mountain biking, meet new people and help grow their local MTB community by hosting social rides in their area. SheRides takes care of the behind-the-scenes work — promoting the rides, managing sign-ups and sharing the details — so you can focus on turning up, riding bikes and welcoming the crew.

Social rides are not coached or guided rides. They’re about riding together, supporting one another and enjoying the trails as a group.

What We Look for in Our Ambassadors

Passionate & Competent Mountain Biker

We’re looking for women who genuinely love mountain biking. You should be a competent rider, comfortable on a range of trails and features, and own your own trail-suitable bike. You’ll also need appropriate safety equipment, including a helmet.

You don’t need to be the fastest racer, the biggest sender or the queen of gnarly features — just confident enough to handle a broad spectrum of riding and enjoy riding with others.

Local Knowledge

You should be familiar with your local trail centre. You don’t need to know every centimetre of every trail, but it’s important to be able to ride with confidence and avoid getting lost. Exploring new trails can be part of the fun, and any off‑piste knowledge is always a bonus.

Commitment

Our minimum commitment is one ride per month, hosted on a Saturday or Sunday.

If you’d like to host more rides — or add an evening ride — that’s completely up to you. Many ambassadors find that one or two rides a month is the perfect balance. Listen to your local community: if there’s demand and you have the capacity, we’re happy for you to run more.

Community-Driven

This role is all about people. We’re looking for ambassadors who enjoy connecting with others, encouraging riders, sharing tips and helping create a welcoming, supportive environment. The best rides — and the best communities — are built together.

Do I Need to Be Qualified?

No qualifications are required to be a SheRides Ambassador.

Our social rides are not coached or guided, and all riders are responsible for their own safety. Ambassadors must be 18 years or older.

What Does Being an Ambassador Involve?

A SheRides Ambassador is a volunteer position where you act as a host in your local area, helping bring women together on the trails through social rides. This includes:

  • Committing to hosting at least one ride per month (weekends, weekdays, evenings - whatever works for you!).

  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all riders.

  • Giving the ride a loose structure so everyone knows what to expect (for example: meet point, recommended rider level and approximate duration).

  • Letting the group lead the way once the ride is underway — social rides are collaborative and relaxed.

  • Taking a few photos during the ride to share with SheRides for social media and community highlights.

  • We welcome your feedback and ideas. As someone embedded in your local community, your insight helps shape how SheRides evolves and grows.

It’s your area, so you know what it needs. You’re encouraged to shape your rides around your local trails and your local community.

What You’ll Get From Us

As a SheRides Ambassador, you’re never doing this alone. We’re here to support you every step of the way and make hosting rides feel as straightforward and enjoyable as possible.

  • Ambassador Area
You’ll have access to our dedicated Ambassador Area, packed with learning materials, guidance and resources to help you get started and feel confident in your role.

  • Ongoing Support
SheRides is the first point of contact for both you and your riders. If anyone has questions before or after a ride, we’re here to help, respond and support where needed. Ambassadors are not expected to manage sign-ups, handle admin, or resolve complex issues, SheRides will step in where needed.

  • Insurance Cover
You’re covered by SheRides’ insurance in your capacity as a host, provided you’re operating within the scope of the ambassador role and onboarding guidance.

  • Ambassador Perks
As a thank you for your time, energy and commitment to growing the SheRides community, ambassadors receive access to a range of perks. These may include partner discounts, ambassador-only offers and other benefits, which may evolve over time.

Staying Connected

As an ambassador, you’ll have the option to be part of:

  • Our Social Ride Facebook group and WhatsApp community chats, where riders can connect, chat about upcoming rides and build community (completely optional).

  • An Ambassador WhatsApp group, where you can connect with other SheRides ambassadors, organise joint social rides, share experiences, ask questions and feel supported as part of the wider SheRides team.

Being a SheRides Ambassador is about more than hosting rides — it’s about helping create safe, supportive spaces where women can ride together, grow in confidence and feel part of something bigger.
