What to Expect

We will be riding the Lady Canning’s Plantation, MTB Trail (Blue graded) and some Peak District XC. This ride is for anyone above complete beginner to intermediate, there’s nothing here to catch anyone out. We’ll warm up on the trails (all blue graded) and then there’s various choices to explore over the Peak District and moorland, nothing difficult but a nice view over the High Peaks.

You can expect 2-3hrs of riding and an optional stop off at the pub at the end - the best way to finish any ride!

We will meet in the spot below, get acquainted and head out. We won’t be rushing to get done, the aim is to have fun and ride bikes. No pressure, just good times!

Come, have fun, meet some like minded ladies and enjoy the Peaks :)

Here is the link to the Ride Sheffield website for more information on Lady Canning’s Plantation.

Where to Meet Us

Lauren will be ready and waiting just outside The Norfolk Arms, Ringinglow ready to ride for 10 am Please arrive with plenty of time to get ready as we’re not going to hang around too long. (We will bike back up SheepHill rd after meeting, towards the car park/trails 200m)

You can contact our ambassadors via the event page on our facebook group (link at the top of this page). If you are running late, please let them know.

The address for our meeting spot:

The Norfolk Arms, 2 Ringinglow Village, Sheffiled S11 7TS

Parking:

There is parking at Lady Cannings MTB trail, Sheephill road, Sheffield S11 7TU (if you google search ‘Lady Cannings MTB trail parking’ you’ll find it).

What Should you Bring?

Equipment:

It’s super important to note that we will not ride with anyone who is not wearing a helmet!

Other than that, the protective gear that you bring is up to you- we normally ride with knee / elbow pads and maybe gloves, depending on the conditions. You’ll also need a bike that is trail suitable, safe and in working order so we can avoid repairs at the start of the day.

It is possible to hire a bike from the onsite bike shop, Sherwood Pines Cycles, but we strongly recommend that you do it well in advance if that’s your plan.

Food:

The Norfolk Arms pub in Ringinglow is 200m from the main entrance. Toilets and food here.

Facilities:

There are good facilities at this trail centre:

  • Parking (free)

  • Toilets (200m from parking at the pub which is the meeting spot)

  • Pub 200m away!

What Will it Cost?

The ride itself is totally free, we won’t be charging you anything for our company.

Have some money spare for a pub lunch/ drinks if you want to hang around for a bit of social after, although there’s no obligation to.

Our ambassadors may take photos or videos during the ride to use on social media or in promotions. It’s a great way to show others what our rides are really like and help those who might be nervous feel more confident about joining next time.

If you'd prefer not to be included in any photos or videos, just let your ambassador know at the start of the ride — no problem at all!
